Afrormosia is a Golden Brown Hardwood from West Africa. It is known as a great substitute for Genuine Teak for interior applications. Among it’s most popular uses include Windows, Doors, Millwork, Flooring, Cabinets, Paneling, Strong Furniture, and more.
It is a easy to work wood that is valued for it finishing, glowing, and working ability. Some other names used for Afrormosia include African Teak, Java Teak, and Afromosia.
Afrormosia also darkens upon sun exposure to a deep orange-brown without the “teak” oiliness. It is a heavy, dense wood averaging 43lb/ft3. Suited to interior marine applications where there is no moisture contact. The wood has a fine texture.
