About Climate-Shield Rain Screen Wood Siding System
A rainscreen is an exterior wall detail where the siding stands off from the exterior surface of a structure, creating an air barrier where drainage and evaporation occur naturally. According to the creators of the Climate-Shield Rain Screen Wood Siding System, it combines a unique siding clip with rainscreen wood siding design to create a superior siding.
Climate Shield also allows the flexibility to install rain screen siding horizontally, vertically or even diagonally. The material selected can be installed in the normal horizontal fashion, but can also be installed on the vertical or diagonal and still have all the efficiencies of a rain screen system. This also eliminates the worry of how to layer furring strips.
