ETT Fine Woods started its business in the late 1800s by importing genuine mahogany (Swietenia Macrophylla) from Brazil and Mexico. However, as the mahogany business has changed over the years so has ours. When the availability of genuine mahogany supply became difficult to source, demand for alternatives for genuine mahogany grew.

These alternatives have expanded to include choices, such as African mahogany (Khaya Ivorensis), Sapele (Entandrophragma cylindricum, and Utile/Sipo (Entandroppragma Utile) . ETT Fine Woods has invested heavily in these woods, offering many options for thickness and grains to help provide the best mahogany substitute for the proper application.
