Charlie currently serves as CEO and is based in our Donalds location. Charlie is responsible for managing and overseeing company-wide operations. He has decades of experience in import markets, having previously been CEO of Craig Lumber Corp for 20 years and Vice President of AHC Craig Imports for 5 years. Charlie started his career sourcing Philippine mahogany and North American Hardwoods for the UK market. He then moved to the USA and sourced mainly African hardwoods. In addition to sourcing Charlie has been active in the sales of these products and operations. When not at work he’s often relaxing with his wife and a good bottle of red wine, traveling, or enjoying time with family.

Nathan started his career in the lumber industry after graduating from the NHLA inspection school in Memphis, TN 1996. He first worked for a large domestic lumber sawmill and concentration yard learning to grade numerous domestic hardwood species both green from the sawmill and kiln dried going to export customers overseas. He then went on to work for one of the premier import lumber concentration yards in the U.S. working in inspection, quality control, receiving, yard management and eventually sales and purchasing. He has specialized in developing new business with large manufacturers and developing buying programs with specific mills to supply those programs. His experience in back-to-back sales working with both the sourcing and sales side of the business has enabled him to develop an extensive book of contacts in the lumber industry. Nathan is currently working in the capacity of Marketing Manager, sales and stateside purchasing.

Matt started his 20-year career in the building products industry after graduating from Clemson University in 2001. Matt has experience in both retail and wholesale sales with both domestic and imported hardwoods as well as millwork. Matt’s extensive background in millwork from the production side to the installation process has enabled him to be our most skilled millwork salesman. Matt also has a knack for molding profile design which he uses to help customers save money and avoid potential problems in the installation and performance of the product. Matt also handles lumber and decking sales for us along the Atlantic coast from North Carolina to South Florida.

Jeff has been with East Teak for over 16 years specializing in the teak side of the business. Jeff is our teak expert learning the business from his father and handling all our top teak accounts. He specializes with a consultative approach to high-end boat builders, yacht manufacturers and all other marine industry clients. He has a tremendous knowledge of teak millwork and a knack for creativity when it comes to producing specialty marine teak products. He also handles all teak grading and sorting, making sure all specific client’s needs are being provided without compromise. Jeff is also taking on the teak sourcing role which has enabled him to have a full perspective of the teak business from the start to the finish.

Jason started his 25-year career in the lumber industry straight out of high school working in the local sawmill where he developed an early knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process. Not long afterwards he attended the NHLA inspection School in Memphis, TN where he furthered his knowledge of the hardwood lumber grades. Jason has spent the last 18 years applying this knowledge to become a specialist in exotic hardwoods from various parts of the world including Africa, Asia, South and Central America. Jason has spent much of his career cutting logs, burls, billets and slabs out of a variety of exotics woods such as Cocobolo, Ebony, Ziricote and Mahogany. He has also spent time in the field consulting with sawmills from Nicaragua to Mexico helping them export their products to other parts of the world. Jason handles sales in all product lines including teak, exotic hardwoods and tropical hardwood decking along the Southern U.S. Coast from Texas all the way to Florida.

Eddie has spent over 17 years in the lumber industry at East Teak learning the business from many different angles. Eddie has extensive knowledge about the teak business and is the glue that keeps the sales team working smoothly helping in shipping, receiving, inventory and sales. Eddie has his finger on the pulse at all times and is the jack of all trades. He currently is our shipping and receiving manager as well as plywood specialist and inside sales support. If anyone knows the answer to your question, it’s probably Eddie.
