This popular “anti-fast food” Austin burger joint features ETT’s Garapa wood throughout the exterior and interior spaces. P. Terry’s Burger Stand, located at Mopac and William Cannon, opened in the Spring of 2009 in the former Hill-Bert’s Burgers location. Local designer Michael Hsu, along with Patrick Terry and his wife Kathy, and made use of the original 2,500 square foot, 50-year-old building and using crisp, futuristic designs with a retro flair likening it to The Jetsons. Garapa siding and millwork adorn the exterior of the restaurant, and carries through into the interior. Terry raved about Hsu’s choice of Garapa wood and its seamless transformation from outside to inside, in a recent article in Austin Monthly magazine’s Fall 2009 Home edition.
